Celebrating 75 Years of Service: The Story of Lines Insurance
In 2025, Lines Insurance proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary—three-quarters of a century serving families, individuals, and businesses in Pasadena, Laurel, Catonsville, and beyond. It’s a milestone that honors not only our decades of trusted service, but also the legacy of a family-owned business that has remained rooted in community, integrity, and personal relationships through three generations of Lines family ownership. To mark this anniversary, we thought we’d share a little Lines Insurance history.
Part 1: Lines Insurance Takes Off
Harry Lines during the Nationwide years
Our story begins with Harry Lines, grandfather of current owner Brad Lines. During World War II, Harry served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he was stationed in the Philippines. After returning home, he was posted to Fort Meade before eventually taking a role as general manager of the American Legion in Laurel, Maryland. In 1950, he founded what would become Lines Insurance, originally operating as a Farm Bureau Insurance agent.
Five years later, in 1955, Farm Bureau evolved into what we know today as Nationwide Insurance. Harry transitioned the agency into an exclusive Nationwide office, which he owned and operated for another two and a half decades.
Part 2: A Lines Family Tradition
Harry Lines and family
In 1974, Harry’s son Ken joined the agency. Over the next several years, Ken worked his way up through the business, officially taking the reins in 1981. His leadership helped carry the agency through decades of change and growth, while continuing the Lines family commitment to customer care.
That commitment was passed down once again when Ken’s son Brad officially took over the agency in 2017 after graduating from Loyola University. In 2018, Lines Insurance took a significant step into the future: we transitioned from an Nationwide exclusive agency to a fully independent agency. That same year, we welcomed the customers of Feehely Insurance Agency into our Lines Insurance family—an exciting chapter that allowed us to expand our service while ensuring a smooth retirement transition for a fellow local agent. Lines Insurance opened a new home office in Catonsville, Maryland, and has continued to grow in our reach and scope of services.
Part 3: Built on People, Powered by Community

What has always set Lines Insurance apart is our people. We are proud to say that though we have grown and changed over the decades, we’ve had multiple employees stay with us for more than 20 years—true professionals who are not just coworkers, but part of the family. In addition, multiple family members continue to play active roles in the agency, including Brad Lines’ brother-in-law (Ken’s son-in-law) Nick Hogan.
As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we reflect with gratitude on our past and look forward with great optimism to the future. We are grateful to our clients—some of whom we’ve served across multiple offices and multiple generations—for your trust and loyalty.
Here's to 75 years of Lines Insurance, and to many more years of serving the communities we call home. And if you’re in need of a great, local, independent, insurance agent, you know who to call.
